Vintage Gretsch White Falcon Stereo Model 7595 made in 1974. This all original masterpiece features a lamintaed maple body, maple neck and ebony fretboard. The Body, neck, headtsock, and F holes are bound in gold sprakle binding. The gold plated hardware coats the Grover stair step tuners, B6 bigsby vibrato, Gretsch G arrow knobs, 6-saddle bridge as well as all the switches, screws and hadrware. The pick-guard is the less common short-guard with the Falcon image logo upside down and the “Gretsch” Script missing. There are 2 volumes and 6 switches, the details to the electroncs, switches, and their functions are described in more detail below. The ’74 White Falcon has the standard or smaller sized F-holes in contrast to the large F holes seen on previous and later year models. There is no string pad dampers in 74′ which make for a cleaner looking guitar in my opinion, and are rarely used anyways. The ebony fretboard has mother of pearl block inlays as apposed to the thumbnail inlays of previous years. This model also features a 6-saddle bridge instead of a roller bridge. There is no visible serial number on this year make and model, however the guitar is easily identifiable by the details of the 7595 as the White Falcon models changed from year to year. Below is a more in depth look into the changes before, during and after 1974.
1974 White Falcon Stereo 7595 “fourth version”: Falcon image logo on pickguard, truss rod adjuster at neck heel, 2 controls and 6 selectors correct for 72-78. Block position markers and no modern name plate on headstock correct for 1974. Hollow arch top bound body with two f holes 7595. Two volume controls and 6 selectors correct for 1974, which later changed to 5 selectors in 1978. Two string dampers in 72-73 but were no string dampers in 1974. Roller Bridge 73, but 6-saddle bridge in 1974. Other period correct features 21 frets plus zero fret, pad on back of body, and B6 style bigsby
This is a fantastic 100% original vintage Gretsch White Falcon from 1974 that plays, and sounds incredible. This is a personal favorite of mine and is a very sharpe looking and versatile guitar. The versatility of the stereo combinations make this an ideal guitar for recording or for a versatile or 2 amp live rig. This particular guitar has fantastic playability and action which is rare for vintage Gretsch guitars. This guitar is in excellent condition with the exception of very light surface scratches from the non-pinned bridge moving from natural playing, and some natural surface cracking along the binding which is very light and very common. This is an incredible guitar that plays, sounds and looks fantastic, original hardshell case. Check out the video demo! More about the stereo controls below!
