Description
Fender Vintage Telecaster in Olympic White finish made in 1970 with aftermarket Hardshell Case. This guitar features a solid ash body in it’s original factory olympic white finish which is verified by the paint stick in the neck pocket, and a one-piece maple neck with the stamped date of 1970 . Equipped with the original Fender black-bobbin single-coil pickup in the neck position as well as the original Fender black-bobbin staggered pole-piece single-coil pickup in bridge position. This guitar at one point had a Humbucker in the neck position which can be seen by a route that is hidden underneath the original 3-ply pick-guard. The original pickups are accompanied by the original volume and tone pots dating to 1966 along with the original 3-way switch. The 25.5″ scale length neck has black dot inlays and was re-fretted at some point in it’s life with 21 medium jumbo frets and has a medium “C” shape neck profile. The hardware is comprised of original chrome Fender”F” style tuning machines, a slightly later mid 70’s 6-saddle Fender Telecaster bridge and original knurled chrome flat top knobs with a 3-ply white/black pickguard and bone nut.
This guitar is in overall good condition for it’s age, lots of finish checking and natural wear, some light dings/dents, a finish chip below the bridge and some chipping around frets and fretboard edges. It was re-fretted at some point in it’s life and the frets are worn in, about 50% life left. The neck pickup cavity was routed for a humbucker, but was converted back to factory setup. The bridge is not original but is from the mid-70’s and features 6-saddles instead of what would have been the original 3-saddle setup. (see pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings and includes hardshell case.
