All original vintage Fender Esquire in factory Blonde finish made in 1967 with Original Hard Shell Case.

This guitar is in remarkable condition for it’s age and most importantly has been kept all original! The body has aged very nicely with a natural patina. The blonde has yellowed and there is finish checking throughout the body and neck along with plenty of honest play-wear including dings, dents, scratches, finish cracks etc. (see photos).

The pickguard has shrunken with age which is very common, but has resulted in the pick-guard chipping around one of the screws. At one point in the guitar’s life a strap button screw had been stripped. This is only evident by a very small amount of touch up paint which only visible under a black light. (photo provided) This area is around the bottom strap button where the button was likely re-filled and touched up.

Aside from the issues mentioned above, this looks equivalent to a modern day Fender Custom Shop relic Esquire but this is the real deal with a ton of vibe, mojo and honest patina from a life of being well-loved.

This guitar features a one-piece solid ash body, one-piece maple neck and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. Equipped with the original Fender grey-bottom 1967 Staggered pole-piece single-coil pickup in the bridge position. The original volume and tone pots date to the 42nd week of 1966 and are accompanied by the original caps, knobs and control plate complete with 3-way switch. The 25.5″ scale length neck has a neck date stamp of Dec 1967, and the blonde paint is present in the neck pocket indicating the factory blonde finish. The Brazilian rosewood fingerboard has a 7.25″ radius, pearloid dot inlays and original 21 medium tall frets with a medium “C”  shape neck profile. The original hardware is comprised of Fender F-Style tuning machines, a bone nut, Fender 3 saddle string-through-body bridge with intonatable saddles, and knurled chrome knobs with a 3-ply white/black pickguard and original ash tray bridge cover.

Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 9-42 strings and includes original Fender hard shell case with orange interior.
