Description
Gibson Les Paul Custom Limited Edition 1954 Black Beauty Reissue in Ebony finish made in 1972 with Original Hard Shell Case. This guitar features a double bound solid mahogany body with a mahogany top, 1-piece mahogany neck and bound ebony fingerboard. Equipped with its original Gibson Alnico V Staple pickups in the neck position and a Gibson P-90 in the bridge position. Controlled by 2-volume, 2-tone knobs and a 3-way toggle switch, comprised of its original pots and Sprague caps dating to 1972. The 24.75″ scale length neck has mother of pearl block inlays and 22 vintage frets with a 50’s rounded neck profile. The hardware is comprised of matching gold Gibson waffleback tuning machines, a bone nut, a Gibson patent stamp ABR-1 Tune-O-Matic bridge and black speed knobs with a 4-ply black/white pickguard.
Arguably one of the most sought after model of the 70s, these limited edition 1954 black beauty reissues were some of the first produced with the highest end appointments of the time including the Seth lover designed “Alnico V” “Staple” pickup and one of the earliest models to recieve the new at the time ABR-1 bridge. Only 1,150 of these models ever came out of the Kalamazoo factory.
This vintage guitar is in overall excellent condition with lighter signs of play. it has some light surface marks, a few light surface scratches and a few light dimples (see pics)
Guitar is freshly setup and restrung with 10-46 strings and includes original hard shell case.
